Blade Runner is a 1982 American neo-noir science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott starring Harrison Ford. It is a loose adaptation of the 1968 novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?". The film is set in a dystopian Los Angeles in 2019 and depicts a future in which synthetic humans known as replicants are bioengineered by the powerful Tyrell Corporation to work on off-world colonies.
The Machine is a 2013 British science fiction thriller film directed and written by Caradog W. James. It stars Caity Lotz and Toby Stephens as computer scientists who create an artificial intelligence for the military.
Tron is a 1982 American science fiction action-adventure film written and directed by Steven Lisberger. The film stars Jeff Bridges as a computer programmer who is transported inside the software world of a mainframe computer where he interacts with programs in his attempt to escape.
WarGames is a 1983 American Cold War science fiction film. The film stars Matthew Broderick and follows David Lightman (Broderick), a young hacker who unwittingly accesses WOPR (War Operation Plan Response), a United States military supercomputer originally programmed to predict possible outcomes of nuclear war.
The Matrix is a 1999 science fiction action film written and directed by the Wachowski Brothers and starring Keanu Reeves. It depicts a dystopian future in which reality, as perceived by most humans, is actually a simulated reality called "the Matrix".
Westworld is a 1973 American science fiction Western thriller film written and directed by novelist Michael Crichton about amusement park androids that malfunction and begin killing visitors. It stars Yul Brynner as an android in a futuristic Western-themed amusement park, and Richard Benjamin and James Brolin as guests of the park.
