D.A.R.Y.L.

D.A.R.Y.L. is a 1985 American science fiction film written by David Ambrose, Allan Scott and Jeffrey Ellis. It was directed by Simon Wincer and stars Barret Oliver, Mary Beth Hurt, Michael McKean, Danny Corkill, and Josef Sommer. The original music score was composed by Marvin Hamlisch.

Everyone in town is in awe of young Daryl's extraordinary talents and abilities, and so are his foster parents. He can perform advanced mathematics, master complex video games at first try, and hit home runs in his very first baseball game. Add to that his genuinely charismatic appeal and you have a special child.

A young boy is found wandering without any memory of who he is. A family takes him in and begin to look for clues to help him find his way home. In the meantime, they notice that the boy seems to have certain special abilities, not usually found in kids his age, or even fully-grown adults. [Murray Chapman]
